At Kervo, quality is central to every stage of our process, from cultivation to processing. We are committed to the highest standards to ensure our customers receive products of exceptional quality. Our modern growing techniques, meticulous selection of fruit varieties, and advanced processing technologies guarantee that our fruit meets the rigorous requirements of industrial bakeries and bakery wholesalers.
Our dedication to quality is evidenced by our BRC certification, and all our suppliers hold Global GAP certification. This ensures we adhere to the highest standards in food safety, sustainability, and quality. At Kervo, quality embodies craftsmanship, reliability, and a steadfast commitment to customer satisfaction.
Kervo BV is proud of its certifications, including the BRC certificate, which meets the stringent requirements of the British Retail Consortium (British supermarkets). The BRC requires that a quality system is in place, that HACCP is applied and that the environment, product, process and personnel are included in this system.
At Kervo, we implement a comprehensive culture plan to continuously enhance quality and safety. This includes regular training sessions and updates focused on improving food safety and sustainability. We also provide guidance on working more sustainably, ensuring that all employees are actively engaged in our commitment to excellence.
By involving everyone in our quality and food safety initiatives, we ensure that we consistently meet the highest standards. This inclusive approach helps us maintain our dedication to superior quality and safety across all aspects of our operations.
Sustainability is a core principle at Kervo. We are dedicated to using natural resources responsibly and minimizing our environmental impact. Our orchards are managed with a focus on preserving biodiversity and protecting the environment. By employing modern cultivation techniques and sustainable farming practices, we ensure the healthy growth of our fruit crops.
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our packaging choices. For instance, our pouch bags are a step towards more sustainable packaging, as they generate less waste compared to metal alternatives. We are also working on making these pouches more recyclable and biodegradable.
Additionally, we continually seek ways to reduce waste and utilize residual flows. This includes producing apple puree from residual streams and implementing heat recovery systems from organic waste or using natural refrigerants for cooling. At Kervo, we are committed to a sustainable future, striving to deliver high-quality products while respecting people, nature, and the environment.
As a Limburg-based SME, Kervo is working to move away from using natural gas for steam production. To achieve this, we are integrating a steam heat pump, or STEAMpump, into our operations through the ERDF OPZUID project. This innovative solution will be incorporated into various production processes, aiming to make our steam production more sustainable. By using a STEAMpump instead of a gas-fired steam boiler, about 50-60% can be saved on energy consumption and 45% on CO2 emissions. Specifically, the STEAMpump should show that:
The project will run from 5 November 2022 to 31 December 2024.
South Netherlands’ ambition with the ERDF programme 2021-2027 (OPZuid) is to implement the RIS3 priorities, thus harnessing and strengthening regional strengths in the areas of economy, entrepreneurship and innovation, with social and economic impact as the goal.
At Kervo, industrial bakeries and bakery wholesalers will find a reliable partner in fruit processing.Flexible, efficient & trustworthy.
